In general, the production of a chemical has three parts: reaction, separation, and purification. The most important process in the production of a chemical is definitely its separation and purification. Currently, there are various methods for separating different solvents from each other, the most important of which are distillation, absorption, and membrane methods. The use of each of these methods has advantages and disadvantages, and one of these methods is selected for separation according to different solvents. The membrane method is the most up-to-date and modern separation method among all these methods, so that the industrialization of this method does not exceed 20 years. Membrane processes include microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration, reverse osmosis, evaporative permeation, gas separation, and electrodialysis. Pervaporation is a membrane process for separating different solvents, which is currently used in the world as the most advanced separation method in this field. The mechanism of this method is that the feed enters the membrane system and the solvent that is present as an impurity in the feed passes through the membrane and exits as a vapor on the other side, thus purifying the feed. On the one hand, in parallel with the advancement of this technology in the world and on the other hand, considering the need of many industries in the country, including the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, for this technology, Kimia Trava Tech Company was the first company to localize this technology in Iran. In general, compounds whose impurities are water or methanol can be purified using this method, including the following:

Description:

In the process of producing dimethoxymethane, methanol is used as the starting material. After the reaction, the purity of dimethoxymethane should reach above 99%. Separation is practically not possible using the distillation method due to the presence of azeotrope. Purification was carried out using a constructed membrane pilot and methanol was removed from the final product.
